Academics

Eaton Arrowsmith School offers daily instruction in English and Math. Each student’s program is tailored to suit his or her current academic profile and is updated throughout the year as the student progresses. Academic Teachers work with students to develop their understanding and application of language and mathematical concepts. This includes teaching the student new strategies and learning skills and utilizing the increased mental capacities, enabling the student to become an independent learner capable of effectively directing his or her future studies. In addition, the English program incorporates Social Study concepts.

Students entering the Arrowsmith Program in Grades 9 through 12 meet with administrative staff to decide the best cognitive and academic program to achieve their personal goals, whether that is immediate employment or postsecondary training. It is important to note that the focus of Eaton Arrowsmith School is cognitive remediation of neurodevelopmental weaknesses, and thus the majority of the academic day is spent working on cognitive exercises.
